Competence Centre

Do you want to position your business as a national hub for immersive intelligence? As a competence centre within Immersive Sweden, you contribute to Sweden's leadership in XR by offering cutting-edge expertise and infrastructure that strengthens the ecosystem – always with a human-centric approach. We are looking for long-term players (both private and public) who want to share resources and drive innovation together with industry, academia, and the public sector.

Definition and frameworks

Sweden's ecosystem for immersive technologies and resources spans from research labs and visualisation domes to creative studios and industrial test environments. We identify and clarify what defines a centre of competence and how these relate to other types of stakeholders. By establishing common criteria, we create the conditions for long-term collaborations, a meaningful mapping, and a network that lasts over time.

Visibility and mapping

We identify and map nodes that constitute centres of expertise across the country. The mapping covers technical equipment, areas of expertise, accessibility and contact channels. This enables actors seeking specific capabilities or infrastructure to find what they need, and for new collaborations and synergies to emerge.

Coordination and collaboration

Through various coordination efforts and forums, we aim to connect centres of excellence with other stakeholders to create the conditions for knowledge sharing, joint projects, and more efficient resource utilisation. The coordination strengthens national capacity, enabling both new and existing stakeholders to more easily access existing infrastructure and expertise. The goal is for more people to be able to test, develop, and apply immersive technologies, without having to build everything from scratch.

Criteria for becoming a Competence centre

To become a competence centre within Immersive Sweden, the organisation needs to have clear capacity, long-term vision, and the ability to share knowledge with others

Infrastructure

Access to a physical or virtual XR environment, for example labs, domes, rendering capacity, display surfaces or other relevant technical environments.

Competence

Consolidated expertise in XR areas that can be shared with external parties and contribute to strengthening more stakeholders.

Accessibility

The operation is open to collaboration, either publicly or within a clearly defined partnership.

Duration

Your centre needs to be longterm or permanent and not a temporary project or short-term effort.

Identifiability

A clear point of contact, location and offering that can be visualised on Immersive Sweden's digital meeting place.
