We build and develop skills

Network of Competence Centres, mobile labs and a digital hub for knowledge, use cases and collaboration.

We strengthen Sweden's position in Europe

Common national agenda and roadmap for XR - shaped together with the whole ecosystem.

Why we exist

Our reality is becoming increasingly complex and digital. Immersive technologies (XR, AI and spatial computing) allows us to experience, understand and shape the world in new ways - from 3D medical training to climate change simulation and virtual collaboration in industrial environments.

Immersive intelligence is a capability that emerges when immersive technologies are combined with data, AI and an understanding of human behaviour. Through spatial and interactive visualisation, information can be experienced and explored instead of just read or analysed. It makes complex systems and relationships more intuitive to understand. In this way, people can more easily learn, make decisions and act in a data-driven world.

Immersive intelligence does not describe a single technology, but a way of using several technologies together to enhance human understanding and behaviour.

Our mission

Our mission is to build an attractive innovation environment where XR and AI-driven experiences strengthen competitiveness, resilience and long-term innovation capacity - with people at the centre.

Immersive Sweden is a neutral and inclusive national innovation platform that brings together actors from research, business, the public sector and society to drive the development of immersive intelligence in Sweden - where XR (Extended Reality) and AI create meaningful, human-centred experiences. The driving forces behind the project are Visual Sweden, Norrköping, Visual Arena, Gothenburg, and Epicentre, Stockholm.

We catalyse collaborations that strengthen Sweden's competitiveness, resilience and innovation capacity in a digitally complex world, with the aim of establishing the country as one of Europe's leading hubs for the field.

Through open collaboration, we are building an attractive environment for pioneering innovations that put people at the centre and contribute to long-term societal benefits.

Our milestones

Immersive Sweden is developed step by step with a focus on building structure, coherence and long-term direction.

The work takes shape through practical exploration, collaboration and learning over time with several concrete activities and missions.

How we work

Our way of working

Insight-driven work

We start from real needs in the ecosystem through mapping, dialogue and continuous business intelligence. The work is shaped by practical use, not by technology per se, creating direction and relevance over time.

Collaboration as a method

Immersive Sweden brings together research, industry, the public sector and innovation environments in joint processes where knowledge is shared and new collaborations emerge. The platform serves as a neutral structure where actors can meet, test and develop together.

Building structure
and doing at the same time

We are developing the platform step by step through concrete activities such as competence centres, innovation projects, meeting places and a digital hub. Insights from implementation shape the next steps and make the work both long-term and adaptive.

National direction and
international position

By visualising capacity, linking initiatives and formulating common priorities, Immersive Sweden contributes to clearer national leadership and a stronger position in Europe.
